Community Website Help : Working with your website

Word Press, the management system for your community website, contains tools for building both web pages and blogs. Through this system, you can build pages and blog entries for your website through an easy-to-use word processor interface, eliminating the need for knowledge of web programming. To access your website editor (Figure 1), click on the "Edit Website" link on the administration portal. In the upper left-hand corner of the page management system in Figure 1, there are three options to choose from:

  • Dashboard (The page shown in Figure 1, which contains links to Word Press documentation.)
  • Write (Create new web pages and blog entries.)
  • Manage (Edit or delete existing web pages or blog components.)

Selecting "Write" from the screen in Figure 1 opens the "Write" page shown in Figure 2. It is here where you will add new content to your website. Within this page, there are two options located in the upper left-hand corner:
  • Write Post (Create new blog post or category)
  • Write Page (Create new web page)

Selecting "Manage" from the screen in Figure 1 opens the "Manage" page shown in Figure 3. It is here where you will edit or delete existing content on your website. Just like the "Write" page, there are two options located in the upper left-hand corner:
  • Manage Post (Edit or delete existing blog post or category)
  • Manage Page (Edit or delete existing web page)
