Hike 5 miles in hills on country roads and park trails near Mount Joy. From Lancaster take PA-283 West. Exit onto PA-230 for 3.3 miles into Mount Joy. RIGHT at traffic light onto PA-772 East for 2/10ths mile. LEFT on Old Market St for 2/10ths mile. RIGHT into Cove Outlook Community Park’s parking lot. Flashlight & reflective clothing for safety, please.

Hike 12 strenuous miles on the AT PA-944 to Duncannon. Carpool from Race Av just north of Buchanan Av, Lancaster.

 

Hike 5 moderate miles on the Horse-Shoe Trail near Colebrook. CARPOOL from the north end of North West End Av, Lancaster.

Hike 5 miles in Landis Woods and nearby neighborhoods. From US-30 take PA-501North to Meadow Lane as you are entering Neffsville. RIGHT onto Meadow Lane and then take the first right into the parking lot for Landis Woods. Flashlight & reflective clothing, please.

Hike about 5 moderate miles in the Strasburg area including Lancaster County Conservancy lands on Kenneagy Hill. A new hike for us! CARPOOL from the north end of North West End Av, Lancaster.

Meet at Bird-in-Hand Restaurant to hike about 5 miles. From US-30 on the east edge of town take PA-340 East for almost 4 miles to the restaurant on your right. For safety, please bring flashlight and wear white or reflective garb.

Hike 5.5-miles on Lancaster County Conservancy land in the Holtwood area. We’ll see the Susquehanna River, trees, and steep hills. CARPOOL from the north end of North West End Av, Lancaster.

We’ll walk about 5 miles, including new trails in Farmingdale woods. Meet at the parking lot on Good Drive just north of the tracks. From US-30 go SOUTH on Rohrerstown Rd 0.3 mi, LEFT on Oreville Rd 0.3 mi, RIGHT on Good Dr 0.2 mi, to the new lot on the left. For safety, bring a flashlight because the sun sets at 7 p.m. & wear white or reflectors.

Hiking Classic: TRIPLE  HIKE  FUND-RAISER  FOR  CONSERVANCY 

.      Today we offer three hikes for the Lancaster County Conservancy Hiking Classic. Because the Conservancy publicizes this event, we may have many guests raising funds to buy land next to Money Rocks Park (see pages 7-8). Let’s get in the spirit & see how we can help! # 1 of 3:  Hike 4 moderate-to-strenuous miles with David Stoddard on Conservancy lands on the Conestoga Trail at House Rock and Reed Run Nature Preserve. We’ll pass Wind Cave too. Some steep slopes and wonderful Susquehanna River views. Drive time each way is about 30 minutes.

 

# 2 of 3: Hike 5 moderate miles with Ken Fillo c 917-6598, on Conservancy lands at Steinman Run and Trout Run. The path has slightly tricky footing by Steinman Run in one or two places, and there is a hill that is rather long but only somewhat steep. Attractive woods and streams. Drive time each way is about 20 minutes.

 

# 3 of 3: Hike 3-6 easy miles with Bill Erwin on Conservancy lands at Fishing Creek. Depending on the distance, we may be crossing the creek two or four times in at least ankle deep water. Drive time each way is about 35 minutes.
