Southern Regional Police News 2006
The Southern Regional Police Department continuously works with various civic, volunteer, religious, and law enforcement groups to improve the quality of life for all of our citizens. One of our efforts is to promote a strong relationship with other law enforcement agencies and the various Lancaster County Task Forces.
We have officers that are members of the Major Crimes Unit, Forensics Team, Special Emergency Response Team and the Lancaster County Drug Task Force. Our officers are called out on a regular basis to assist other police departments on major crimes and in return, these units can and do respond to our area when needed.
Recently, an officer with out department was involved in a lengthy undercover investigation involving the State Bureau of Narcotics Investigation and the Lancaster County Drug Task force and assisted in the arrest of several individuals that were part of one of the largest cocaine drug operations recorded in Lancaster County. The officer helped shut down a $10,000,000.00 cocaine operation that was distributing drugs throughout Lancaster and in our community. The closure of this drug operation will only help make our community safer.
The officers of the Southern Regional Police Department will continue to work with the various memberships in our community to help keep it safe and will remain diligent, from the law enforcement perspective, to ensure that these needs are met.
